The invoice is a fiscal proof that must comply with the requirements established by the Tax Administration Service (SAT), the tax authority in Mexico.
In contrast, in the United States, the terms “receipt” and “invoice” are often used interchangeably to refer to a payment document issued by a seller to a buyer. Generally, a receipt or invoice in the United States will include information about the seller, the buyer, transaction details, prices, taxes, discounts, and payment method.
